For this month of July, streaming platforms have lots of new things in store for us. Action, thrills, apocalyptic thriller, romance… There will be something for everyone!

Red Swan

“Red Swan” tells the story of Oh Wan-soo, a woman born into a poor family who transforms her life by becoming a world-renowned golfer. She attracts the attention of many admirers, including Kim Yong-guk, the heir to the Hwan Group, who becomes her future husband. Wan-soo agrees to marry Yong-guk to repay her mother’s debts, but she quickly becomes unhappy when she discovers her husband’s infidelity. For over a decade, she lives with him, determined to make their marriage work.

However, everything changes when she faces the biggest night of her life. While in Manila as a goodwill ambassador, Wan-soo is caught in a shootout, but she narrowly escapes death thanks to the heroism of her bodyguard, Seo Do-yoon. Soon, Wan-soo develops feelings for Do-yoon and questions the latter's true motivations for working within the Hwan Group.

The main cast includes Kim Ha-neul as Oh Wan-soo and Rain as Seo Do-yoon. The series, which consists of 10 episodes, will air on Disney+ starting July 3, 2024.

The Auditors

“The Auditors” tells the story of Shin Cha-il (played by Shin Ha-kyun), a ruthless leader in the audit team of a construction company where corruption is rife. Gu Han-soo (Lee Jung-ha), a new employee, joins the team with the hope that it will serve as a springboard for an overseas transfer, but he struggles to work under Cha-il. Yoon Seo-jin (Jo A-ram), also new to the team, is an ambitious and individualistic young woman willing to do anything to succeed. She has a childhood connection to Hwang Dae-woong, the company's vice president, who hopes to take the reins of the company himself. However, at work, they pretend not to know each other.

The series has 12 episodes and stars Shin Ha-kyun, Lee Jung-ha, Jin Goo, and Jo A-ram. It is directed by Kwon Young-il and will air on tvN starting July 6.

Good Partner

The plot revolves around Cha Eun-kyeong, a seasoned divorce lawyer, and Han Yoo-ri, a new lawyer. Eun-kyeong is pragmatic and puts the interests of the law firm and its clients first. As she works on her cases, her own impending divorce preoccupies her. Meanwhile, Yoo-ri, an idealist, does not tolerate injustice, which often leads to conflicts between the two lawyers. Despite their opposing values, they prove to be a formidable duo and later become confidants as they face their own personal crises.

The series has 16 episodes and stars Jang Na-ra, Nam Ji-hyun, Kim Joon-han and Pyo Ji-hoon. It is directed by Kim Ga-ram and Choi Yoo-na, and will air on SBS starting July 12.

Sweet Home 3

In this third season of this post-apocalyptic drama, Song Kang, Lee Jin-wook, Go Min-si and other actors reprise their roles from the first two seasons. According to Netflix, “Sweet Home 3” will see an increasing blurring of the lines between humans and monsters, leading to a final battle between the two sides. The series has 8 episodes. Directed by Lee Eung-bok, it will be broadcast on Netflix from July 19.

Serendipity's Embrace

“Serendipity's Embrace” tells the story of Lee Hong-joo (played by Kim So-hyun), an animation producer who is afraid of love after a painful experience. She unexpectedly crosses paths with her first love, Kang Hoo-yeong (Chae Jong-hyeop), a financial planner, for the first time in ten years.

The series is based on the webtoon of the same name by author Nam Ji-eun and illustrator Kim In-ho, published in 2011. It also stars Yoon Ji-on and former SISTAR member Kim Da-som. Yoon Ji-on plays Bang Jun-ho, a narcissistic writer who develops a special relationship with Hong-joo, his biggest fan, whom he met during the publication of his first novel. Kim Da-som plays the role of Kim Hye-ji, an English teacher at Ohbok High School and Hong-joo's best friend.

The 8-episode series is directed by Song Hyun-wook and Park Geu-ro. It will be broadcast on tvN from July 22, 2024.

Your Honor

This K-drama follows Song Pan-Ho, a judge respected by all, warm and driven by a strong conviction of justice. He leads a successful life, with no blemish in his past. Opposite him is Kim Gang-Heon, the cruel leader of a criminal organization operating in the same city. Despite his cold appearance, he is a loving and devoted father. The series pits them against each other to protect those around them.

It has 10 episodes and stars Son Hyun-Joo, Kim Myung-Min, Kim Do-Hoon, Yoon Chan-Young and Jung Eun-Chae. Directed by Pyo Min-Soo, “Your Honor” will be broadcast on ENA from July 2024.

No Way Out: The Roulette

“No Way Out: The Roulette” tells the story of Kim Kook-ho (played by Yoo Jae-myung), a heinous murderer released from prison after a 13-year sentence, much to the public's displeasure. When a generous bounty is placed on his head, Detective Baek Joong-shik must work with lawyer Lee Sang-bong to protect the killer from the wrath of the enraged masses.

The series has 8 episodes and stars Jo Jin-woong, Yoo Jae-myung, Yeom Jung-ah, Kim Mu-yeol and Lee Kwang-soo. It is directed by Choi Kook-hee and will be broadcast on U+Mobile TV starting in July.
